Originally formed in 2012 as McGoldrick/McGuigan Productions, What's Next Films is a Northern Ireland-based production outlet with a primary focus on independent film. 2017 saw a milestone in the company's history when What's Next produced their first feature film, the hotly anticipated Northern Irish slasher thriller 'Braxton', featuring a sprawling Northern Irish ensemble cast.  Spearheaded by Margaret McGoldrick and Leo McGuigan, What's Next has been responsible for a handful of award-winning short films, including children comedies, Northern Ireland Screen/BFI Network 'The Invention' and 'Time And Again' and continue to work with local talent, developing and producing new and exciting content aimed for global audiences.

As Margaret works closely with Northern Irish indie Causeway Pictures, where is she is currently co-directing a feature documentary about prolific filmmaker Debra Hill, Leo also works with Northern Irish indie Poli Production as their in-house Development Producer. 

 

Most recently, Margaret produced thriller feature 'Lie Of The Land' for Causeway Pictures which took its world premier at Galway Film Fleadh were it also on Best Irish First Time Feature.
